Higher Education and Regions in Globalising Knowledge Economy We have the pleasure of inviting you to the forthcoming OECD conference Globally Competitive, Locally Engaged - Higher Education and Regions International Conference, 19-21 September 2007, Valencia, Spain This conference will look at ways in which higher education institutions can best contribute to region building in the knowledge-based economy. The keynote speeches, discussions and parallel work group sessions will draw from the OECD review project entitled “Supporting the Contribution of Higher Education to Regional Development”, which embraced 14 regions in 12 countries, as well as the earlier work on the OECD territorial reviews.
